About Viking

An advisory firm built around the conversation owners actually want to have.

Most cost-reduction firms either charge clients a percentage of savings or push a single provider. Viking is the alternative: owner-led, multi-vendor in every category, always free to clients — providers pay our commission only when better service AND better cost are both delivered.

Our Story

Founded in Dallas in 2014. Owner-led ever since.

Viking Business Advisors was founded by Brad Wedeberg after more than a decade inside the brokerage and vendor-services industry. Brad started Viking because he kept watching the same pattern repeat itself: a growing business signs a contract with a brokerage, gets handed off to a junior account manager, and never hears about pricing again unless they ask.

Eleven years later, we still work the way Brad set out to from day one. You talk to the principal. You never get a bill from Viking — providers pay our commission, disclosed to you in writing. And we only earn anything if a switch genuinely delivers better service AND better cost.

Today Viking serves growth-stage businesses across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and Texas more broadly — typically companies between $2M and $50M in revenue, in industries where vendor sprawl and contract complexity hide a meaningful amount of overpayment.

What We Believe

Four principles we won't compromise on.

Free to clients. Always.

You will never get a bill from Viking. No retainer, no project fee, no hourly billing, no audit fee. We're paid by the providers we place business with — same model as a traditional broker, just extended across six categories instead of one.

Owners deserve the principal's time

You don't get handed off. Brad runs every engagement personally and signs every recommendation that goes to your desk. We stay small on purpose.

Multi-vendor in every category

We represent dozens of carriers, processors, REPs, software vendors, and PEOs across the six categories we cover. That breadth is what lets us actually compare options on your behalf, instead of pushing whatever single vendor pays best.

Sometimes the answer is "leave it alone"

Not every category is overpaid. If your current arrangement is fair, we'll tell you and move on. Half the value of an audit is knowing what's already working.

Who We Serve

Growth-stage businesses with vendor sprawl.

Viking is the right fit for owner-operated and small-executive-team businesses where:

  • Annual revenue is between roughly $2M and $50M.
  • You have at least three of: merchant processing, multi-line telecom, commercial insurance, AP volume, payroll/HR, or significant utility spend.
  • The owner or CFO wants better visibility into vendor pricing but doesn't want to become an expert in any of these categories.
  • You'd rather hire one trusted advisor than manage six different vendor relationships yourself.

We're not a fit for very small businesses (under ~$1M revenue), single-vendor situations, or owners who want to manage everything in-house. That's fine — there are firms built for those situations.

No pitch deck. No mandatory engagement. Just a candid call about whether an audit would be worth your time.
